What makes it even more majestic and beloved is its park, which has recently been restored in several places.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/residenzale6a.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/parco-fontana.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4156 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/residenzale6a.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/parco-fontana-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Italian garden fountain\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Park history<\/h2>\n<p>Considered one of the largest parks in Italy, it <strong>covers 22 hectares with trees and plants from all over the world.<\/strong> Ferdinando Massimiliano Giuseppe d\u2019Asburgo was passionate about botany and himself identified the spur of rock as the site of the park, which was originally conceived as an experimental station for reforestation and acclimatization of rare botanical species.<\/p>\n<p>According to the design by Bohemian architect Anton Jelinek, the Grignano promontory was flattened and covered with soil specially brought from Styria and Carinthia. Walking in the park, you will identify two distinct areas: one is a forest with <strong>paths<\/strong>, <strong>ponds<\/strong> and <strong>gazebos<\/strong>. The other area, more sheltered from the wind, is characterized by <strong>geometric spaces<\/strong>, <strong>greenhouses<\/strong> and <strong>Italian gardens<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This peaceful place, given its size, allows you to walk around and enjoy the beautiful views in complete tranquillity.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/residenzale6a.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/stazione_miramare_sentiero.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-4162 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/residenzale6a.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/stazione_miramare_sentiero-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Stazione Treni Miramare\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Our gem: a spectacular detour<\/h2>\n<p>In one of our recent articles, we suggested <a href=\"https:\/\/residenzale6a.it\/un-itinerario-diverso-per-visitare-il-castello-di-miramare\/\">alternative routes to the park<\/a>, including the evocative Miramare station. Once you leave the park and reach this station, take <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cai-fvg.it\/sentieri-cai-fvg\/sentieri-cai-fvg-settore-0-carso\/s0-009\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">path 009<\/a>, which leads to Contovello. A steep staircase climbs through a forest of oaks, maples and hornbeams. Once you reach Contovello, you can walk among vineyards and ancient wells, satisfied by a view that embraces our entire gulf.
