Charming as a boutique hotel, cozy as a b&b, in the centre of Trieste

Le 6 A Residence

Combining the elegance of a boutique hotel and the warm welcome of a bed & breakfast, the building is located in the pedestrianised zone in the heart of Trieste. Sophistication, character, discretion and attention to detail are the defining characteristics of La Residenza Le 6A and La Settima A.

The Building

The rooms are all soundproofed, with parquet floors and elegant, comfortable furnishings.
Guests are provided with an individual code to type into a keypad at the entrance to the building, ensuring they have complete freedom by allowing them to come and go any time as they please.

The aim of the building is to allow guests to feel at home. The breakfast options were designed with this in mind, offering a solution for each guest according to their preference.

  • Those who like their breakfast ready and waiting for them can choose the rooms in Residenza Le 6A, where a continental buffet breakfast is included in the price.
  • Those who prefer freedom of choice, on the other hand, can opt for the rooms of Settima A, which come with a hideaway kitchenette, providing the guests with several options:
    • preparing breakfast independently,
    • requesting the buffet in the Sala Comune of Residenza Le 6A (extra charge).

B&B rooms

Each room is defined by a specific colour, as well as by the women whose names they bear.

The breakfast (included) is served in the Sala Comune, a welcoming space which is often used by guests as a launch-pad for their visit to Trieste.

All rooms come with:

  • en-suite bathroom
  • digital terrestrial television and access to Sky
  • WI-FI access
  • kettle (with instant coffee and wide range of teas and herbal infusions)
  • minibar with bottles of water
  • air-conditioning

  • daily housekeeping

Le 6 A

Each room has a female name beginning with A, taken from female characters by the renowned Triestine writer Italo Svevo.

The rooms with kitchenette

The rooms in Settima A follow the style of La Residenza. The name of the building recalls the link between Le 6A, dedicated to Italo Svevo, and these five rooms, dedicated to James Joyce.

The sense of openness and warmth has also been carried over to this building. The desire to ensure guests feel at home by giving them complete freedom is typified by the range of breakfast options opened up by the hideaway kitchenette in every room. Guests of Settima A can prepare their breakfast independently, request the buffet in the Sala Comune of Residenza Le 6A, or prepare their breakfast by ordering their preferred items ahead of time from among a range of those offered and having them waiting in their room upon arrival (both include extra charge).

All rooms come with:

  • en-suite bathroom
  • digital terrestrial television
  • WI-FI access
  • air-conditioning
  • hairdryer
  • hideaway kitchenette equipped with preparation surface, sink, refridgerator, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, toaster; basic products are provided (salt, sugar, oil, vinegar, coffee, tea, infusions…)
  • daily housekeeping

La Settima A

Anna Livia Plurabelle, our seventh A, is the protagonist of an episode of Finnegans Wake. Joyce took inspiration in part from Livia Veneziani, the wife of Italo Svevo, as a tribute to the city he had recently left.

Giacomo, Nora, Stanislaus, Eileen, Sinico: each room has a connection to one of Joyce’s works written during his time living in Trieste.
