In the height of summer 2026, Trieste hosts one of the most anticipated music events of the year: Gorillaz take to the stage in Piazza Unità d’Italia on July 25 with a stop on their new international tour, The Mountain Tour, celebrating 25 years of the project created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett.
A long-awaited return
The world’s most iconic virtual band returns to Italy four years after its last concert, choosing Trieste as one of the symbolic locations of the tour.
A special opportunity to see live once again Hewlett’s unmistakable characters — 2D, Murdoc, Russel and Noodle — in an experience that blends music, visual art and digital storytelling.
The event anticipates the release of The Mountain, the new album scheduled for March 2026.
The first single, The Happy Dictator, has already revealed the mood and soundscape that will define this new artistic phase of the band, building anticipation for new tracks that may also be previewed live on the Trieste stage.
A unique setting: Piazza Unità d’Italia
The concert will take place in one of Europe’s most spectacular squares.
The immersive stage designs of Gorillaz, combined with the view over the Gulf of Trieste, promise a live show of striking visual and atmospheric impact: a perfect dialogue between music, architecture and the open sea.
Trieste is easily accessible from Italy and neighboring countries — Slovenia, Croatia and Austria — and in summer it comes alive with events, festivals and outdoor life.
The Gorillaz live show thus becomes the perfect opportunity to discover a city with a strong cultural identity, suspended between Central European and Mediterranean influences.
Where to stay: the convenience of the historic city center
For those traveling to Trieste for the concert, staying in the city center is the most practical choice.
Residenza Le 6A, just a few minutes’ walk from Piazza Unità, offers:
- elegant rooms, carefully designed down to the smallest detail and perfectly soundproofed
- self check-in with a personal access code
- options with breakfast included or a kitchenette
- an ideal location for getting around on foot between the concert, restaurants, bars and museums
The residence combines comfort, warm hospitality and the peace of a refined, home-like setting — perfect for those who want to enjoy the concert without stress.
Music, sea and culture: a weekend not to be missed
The Trieste stop of the Gorillaz tour will be one of the must-see events of summer 2026.
A major international event in the city’s most iconic square, in a setting that enhances the musical experience and makes it truly unique.
