Sebatiao Salgado Amazonia

The Salone degli Incanti in Trieste hosts the exhibition of one of the greatest contemporary photographers: until October 13th, visitors can explore Sebastião Salgado’s ‘Amazônia’ exhibition featuring 200 photographs, immersing them in the forest and revealing the cultures of its inhabitants.

The exhibition is curated by Lélia Wanick Salgado, who through her work has recreated an environment where visitors can feel immersed in the forest, recognizing its beauty and the value of its preservation. The landscapes of the Amazon are the protagonists of the first part of the exhibition, while the second part shifts focus to the 12 indigenous groups with 100 photographs and video interviews with the leaders of these groups.

To enrich this unique experience, there is an audio track specially composed by the French musician Jean-Michel Jarre, which reproduces the sounds of the forest, as well as voices and songs of indigenous peoples found in the sound archives of the Museum of Ethnography in Geneva.
